Shiftless third-party prep courses have made MCSE certification less valuable. Is Microsoft's new security cert doomed to the same fate?

Wrong attitude about security, but typical of Microsoft's outlook

By the by, I merely desire to help out here... the main jist of Tim's article is the fact that the MCSE cert has lost value, and he's worried that it will rub off onto security with the addition of the MS "security" emphasis. Give this, perhaps there is still a way to salvage the reputation of the MCSE out in the IT world... let's make it hands-on instead of a simple group of questions. If this prospect frightens you, then be so kind as to state why, or go do something to alleiviate your fears.
As for why I post to Tim's articles, it is because I have a heterogenous network, and I have to make the two OSes play nice with each other. Let's just say I have a dual interest here, and will post freely to Tim's or anyone else's articles as I choose.
Now, if you have something constructive to add to this, cool. But otherwise my dear "Anonymous", you can kindly go back into the MS.com KB-dredging morass you came from.
Cheers,
/P
