Unwanted e-mail saps security budgets and wastes everyone's time. It's nice to see Bill Gates take some responsibility for stopping it.

It is astonishing how some individuals will draw the most negative inferences about others based on nothing more than the NOS that the targets of their ire make a living on. This kind of silliness is not limited to the Windows versus Linux barroom brawl, but includes the BSD vs. Linux intramural dustup and domestic violence such as Linux distro A vs. Linux distro B. These guys could drive you nuts if you let them.
Windows as an NOS gets a bad rap, partially because there are so many paper MCSEs and uncertified ignoramuses running around. I am pro-Linux, and it scares me how some Linux newbie will casually put up his machine on the Internet, based on nothing more than the widely published presumption that Linux is safer than Windows - The "They won't rip my clothes off and strip me naked, because I am wearing an extra pair of boxers" kind of logic.
The fact is that securing Linux requires a fair to heavy amount of preparation and work, and not everyone is ready or willing to pay that price though the rewards are great. IMHO, a Windows server that is secured by an MCSE who knows what he or she is doing is safer than a Linux server supported by a clueless Linux individual - and vice-versa.
