Can someone explain to me the difference between A) copying a song from the MTV Clip on TV or Radio station and making it into an MP3 for private use or B) downloading the same music (already in mp3 format) from the internet for private use.
The result is thesame. Only in scenario B the RIAA blows it's top and comes knockin on my door if they could. While scenario A is certain to produce thousands of *legal* copies every time the song is broadcasted.. Coz people record it form the broadcast..
See the problem here ?
Private use should be allowed, even sharing but commercial gain form illegal copies is where the line should be drawn.
Most p2p users don't have a dime anyways ! Putting them in jail makes nobody even a dollar richer, instead burdens society with ever increasing imprisonment costs.. Now where's the logic in that ?
