Federal prosecutors in California went too far when they put a man in prison for disclosing a website security hole to the people at risk from it.

You'd try to prosecute someone for them revealing flaws in your code? Are you completely stupid?

People need to grow the hell up and stop being so damn proud. Nobody's perfect. I've coded my share of security vulnerabilities in my life and when someone reveals one, I'll take it on board and learn from it along with fixing the problem.

It seems nobody can stand having their pride and reputation slightly damaged because someone find a security hole in their coding. And I definitely think more respect would be given to those who take it on board and respect that they created a vulnerability and release a fix helpfully.

People honestly need to grow up.
