The Singapore GDP is comparable to ours in absolute terms, but these guys (and gals) live a hell of a lot better than we do, because their cost of living is so much lower than ours. If these guys (and gals) in Singapore live like dogs, then they have the kind of standard of living that American dogs like us can only envy.
I hope that we Americans can eventually take advantage of say Indian online training: how about getting our Oracle, Cisco or Check Point training for 5% or 10% of what we would have to pay in the States? If the Indians can take advantage of cheap training, so should we. We probably need to do away with import tariffs that hurt us in the sense that they drive the cost of our finished products and services upward, thus limiting our ability to export these goods and services effectively. We will also need to take a look at getting our local governments to migrate some of their back office ops to India, because the taxpayer money thus saved could be used to meet other urgent needs. And India could return the favor to us by allowing our nationals to work there: trade is not exactly a one-way street, isn't it?
As far as the impact of India on security jobs is concerned, I am not excessively worried: incident response involves getting your hands dirty, and there is no way to do that long distance.
