This is true. It will hurt in the short run, but we as americans have proven to be resiliant. I think we need to get an attitude of what can we do now to provide solutions to meet customers needs. As long as we continue down that path we will always keep a dominance in certian key industries.

We have rested on our laurels and now it's time to pay.

Again we must find what companies want and develope those technologies.

When starting a business you look at the barriers to entry by possible competitors and set a risk model to determine the amount of time before competition will negatively affect your company.

We are seeing the same business principle at work. So we must continue to develope and create maybe even tachnologies that are not transportable.
