Yes, my Linux systems require patching from time to time. But it's a lot less disruptive to patch a Linux system than a Windows system. Patching a Linux system doesn't usually require a reboot, only restarting the affected service. Practically every Microsoft patch requires shutting down and rebooting the entire OS, which makes patching an extremely disruptive activity on those systems. As a result, I can apply many Linux patches on the fly, but Microsoft patches have to wait until the affected system is not in use.
