Does Microsoft Give a Damn?
George Smith, 2003-09-15

>Interesting comparing cars to MS products. If you think about it, cars have to be patched all the time too. Oil changes every 3000 miles, regular maintenance, gasoline to keep it running, mechanical failures, etc. The fact is, people still buy them so they don't have to walk.

cars have complex moving parts. The only moving parts in a computer are the motors for the fans and hard drive (and you can do without those). The only excuse for "regular maintenance" (where you have to reboot it) on a computer is shoddy coding.
