We spend money, increase administration, and take away functionality. Is it any wonder that security people are so misunderstood?

1- The only solution provided by this journalist/CIO is more money, into the exsisting product. No where is there mention of trying something else.
2- There is no mention as to the QA level of MS patches. If they are already doing _their_ job,
of testing, validating, etc... the patch or hotfix;
then what are you testing at your site?
Download speeds?
To make the point, if you don't trust MS, which no matter how you tread around it with some rationalization, is the key, then why are you
still doing business with them?
Please, I know other solutions are incredibly
painful. But to _completely_ ignore them is
just outright one-sided.... which, when you get right down to it, is what most comparisions are.
