The proposed cure for the Internet's security woes might help Microsoft competitors, but it would only make our security problems worse.

"YEA" for strawmen! Making an argument that linux isn't really more secure an OS because everyone will just make apps as deliberately and stupidly integrated and insecure as the windows apps currently in use is not only bad debate, its dumb.
Really dumb.
In the current crop of *nix apps that entire BS argument falls apart and there is no reason to expect it to do so should linux take over the desktop world. After all, you don't have those problems in the Apple-OSX world do you? Is there any crowd more proven to be willing to pay extra for application integration and convienience than the modern Apple users?
An OS designed with security as a feature rather than an obsticle will simply not have the constant barrage of rediciously stupid problems that the windows install base experiences.
This is also the last article from Mr. Mullen I'll bother to read. He's now proven himself willing to transition from iffy pro-MS arguments to absurd ones.
