I would hope that the users who don't use IPSec would also not use IPChains, since they have nothing to do with each other. IPSec is an IP level encryption option, IPChains is an old, oudated firewall system. IPChains has been replaced by IPTables.

Other differences also exist: Except for Lindows, all GNU/Linux systems strongly discourage users from running as "root", unlike Windows where users are GIVEN administrator access by default. A bug running under a users privilages isn't going to do the same amount of damage under GNU/Linux then it would under Windows.

Obviously this author still has a lot to learn about operating systems other than Windows. And for the head of a security company, I would hope that he would at least know what IPSec is.
