Donkeys evolved from horses, in response to poorer enviromental conditions. Natural selection pure and simple.. Thus as conditions improve (as they are now) natural selection will move back to the better design and solution .... The horse or as in the computing world the stallion that will always be Vax/VMS...
The fact that there are some still going just goes to prove what a resiliant solution it was. Even it dies off the point is the solution will re-evolve.
Breeding with horse is not natural selection just as using Vax/VMS memory management in NT was an mule of a solution..
