Of course the open source community releases more patches than microsoft, the open source community releases more software than microsoft. If Microsoft releases 1000 applications in one year, and the open source community releases 100,000 applications in one year (69,673 hosted on sourceforge.net alone), who do you think is going to release the most patches?
