Although still young in the ways of the internet, computers, and all of today's technology, I feel this article to be "right-on" as far as the "geeks to the rescue" are concerned. Having taken typing class some 25+ years ago, and JUST taken it as an elective course, knowing I would probably NEVER use this newly installed ability, (unless of course, I went to college), well guess what, I'm not only going to college, but I'm in one of Scott's classes. What a job he does, trying to put "our everyday problems and questions" into laymen's terms of solutions. Now this article was not a required reading, and he knows of my love for reading lengthy articles (NOT!) but I didn't have my assignments posted yet, so I thought I'd check out one of his columns.

I truly hope that some sort of solution to this ongoing problem is thought of by the "masterminds of the powers that be", for I don't think that I'll have a snowball's chance in hell of ever catching up with technology, and therefore will ALWAYS have a need for a friend that might be a computer whiz.

On the subject of education, I feel that today's school system has adequately compromised the learning curve and started the children--that's right children, for I have two (one 7 and one 11) in the right direction by teaching basic computer skills in as early as kindergarten. To this I applaude SOMEONE's foresight! for aren't our kids the future?
