Busting the Worm Writers
Tim Mullen, 2003-11-24

Microsoft deserves praise for offering a cash reward to catch people who criminally exploit their bugs.

Looks like you won't dare to use a spell-checker either. These are the typical, ignorant responses I have grown accustomed to in comments posted to Mr. Mullen's articles.

Any time he says something positive toward Microsoft, he is charged with being bribed for his opinion. Any time he defends something they have done, he become a sheep, or a slug, or whatever childish term you trolls come up with. What surprised me a bit was the fact that you failed to use terms like "Windoze" and M$ or what have you.

There has never been a zero day used in a worm. Your argument holds no water, and even if it did, it would not be specific to Microsoft. Apache, SendMail, or any other application or service could fall prey to the same fate. If our systems were hit by a zero day worm or attack, we would not be fired. Thinking that shows your lack of real world knowledge.

His grip on the reality of computer security seems firm, and it looks like he already has a life. You might want to apply your suggestions while looking in a mirror.
