Busting the Worm Writers
Tim Mullen, 2003-11-24

Microsoft deserves praise for offering a cash reward to catch people who criminally exploit their bugs.

" Don't change the subject."

You brought up 'slapper' as your big defense, and I merely slapped it down (geddit? "slapped"? tee hee hee... I kill me sometimes!)

"I correctly stated that's *NEVER* happened with Microsoft, and it *has* happened with other O/S makers."

Other OS makers want to be sure their patch actually works before releasing it. Would you like to know why so many machines were infected with Nimda and its variants? Because most admins didn't want to take down their servers with crappy patches. And of course you have the other reason, that MCSE's often don't know anything about basic security, but I digress.

I wish Microsoft sometimes felt the same way as other OSes when it comes to making a patch work.

" Maybe making up a lie, and not backing it up with anything other than the fact you can type it will help drive your point home."

You have GOT to be kidding:

I'd go on, but I think there's no need to humiliate you completely, is there?

Really, was it necessary to make such a bald fool of yourself?

Dear Heavens, man... get a grip, then get a clue.
