...but ulinke car manufacturers, software companies explicitly disclaim all (and any) warranties etc, or?

Frankly, I know only one perfect and safe software "product" - famous "Hello, world!" example. Everything else is not perfect (and will never be perfect).

But even if your a) would be eliminated (i.e., users and admins will take basic precautions), then b) and c) may be less (if at all) relevant.

You can abuse (or misuse) your microwave oven at home too - and then blame its manufacturer (because it made this abuse possible). Well.. We all heard those stories... But - when there is no common sense, it won't help at all.

Sometimes I really believe that removing all those safety labels everywhere will do the right thing - i.e., it will eliminate everyone who is not intelligent enough or lacks commons sense :)
