I agree with one of the other posters, that M$ could give away free upgrades to WinXp or whatever, I don't particularly like the idea, but, it certainly might help. Of course, there's no such thing as a "Free" upgrade, you need someone to do the upgrade, but, it might help some people.
Upgrading from Win95/98 to WinXP doesn't require an insignificant expenditure, justifying $800 dollars of expenditure, for the lack of innovation and functionality between Win98 and WinXP is very difficult.
