If people just want to use a computer for email and solitaire (as many do) then microsoft should inform (within windows) about email tact. Simply delete email if you don't know where it's coming from, better to be safe than sorry. But don't blame the company, blame the user.
As far as your comment about Apple, I think your fairly uneducated yourself. Apple computers are secure, quite in fact. In fact they are so secure that they NEVER have virus outbreaks and the U.S. law enforcement exports seized computers and sends them to Canadian Apple specialists. But security comes at a cost, they aren't cheap.
