The problem is not entirely the code (tho Microsoft does have liabilities), or the building, or the dog, or whatever. The problem still lies with the users. No amount of firewalling, AV tech, padlocks, will protect a dumb and uneducated user from blowing his machine up.
Safety mechanisms are required on all firearms, yet how many people still accidentally set them off?
I can get in a car and step on the gas pedal until I ram into a pedestrian. Does that mean that the automobile manufacturer is at fault?
In a global environment, such as the 'net, users DO have inpact far beyond what they may realize.
Users need to take responsibility for their own actions, beyond reasonable measures provided (or in MS case, not provided) by the manufacturer.
