The 12KB Bomb
Kelly Martin, 2004-03-17

It only takes a 12KB virus for total system compromise and a highly effective spam engine. Anyone can make one. Some assembly required.

We all have been looking at this technically but I would also urge you to look at these new events, if you don't already, as an opportunity to try and help change the culture away from causing damage to other peoples systems. As you take new technical people under your wing, family friends or whomsoever, help direct their path away from destructive behavior. There is way to much of the attitude of "I do this because I can", that is, the OS has holes so someone exploits them, no thoughts or maybe cares to the repercussions of those actions.
So this jabber of mine is an urge to push towards teaching those new to the field to have more consideration of others, there's always going to be those that just don't give a rats arse about other humans and the consequences of their actions on others, so we'll always have to deal with it, I'm just saying there needs to be a change, parents and mentors can do a lot to change this culture.
ok enough of my soapbox, (misspellings due to my own insanity)
