Funny considering it's now around 5-7% of the market for Linux, and about the same for Mac.
It might also be because there isn't any runtime language built into the Open-Source mail programs. That, and there isn't just one program to attack, which makes it hard to hit "the Open-Source mail program".
A mail program is meant to do one thing: mail. Perhaps newsgroups, also... but that's also something that is implemented without any security risks usually.
It sounds like you're kinda bitter, had a bad experience?
