With the consumer WiFi explosion, launching a virus into the wild has never been easier and more anonymous than it is today.

Society has varying needs - as do people.

Companies who can forsee the market needs and is flexible enough to change their business plan to accomodate them - will survive.

Right now there is a need for security and security companies will make large sums of money - when the demand lowers - those companies who are smart will shift their resources to other areas.

I don't think that security companies invest money into creating a problem that they can solve - that would be very illegal and imoral.
I beleive that once the problems they set themselves to sove are solved - they would look for other areas to make money - as it should be.
