Dude, if only one spammer gets aware of this how long you think it will take until all others will know this too? I am quite sure that the big spam operations (and they are only a few) knew this fact since the first appearance of Access points. After all the insecurity of WiFi is public since day 1. So sorry, but definitly no news to spammers. It is not Joe Blogs driving for hours around searching for access points, its the biggies in the market.
See the article not from a technical point of view but from a Business managers perspective in a small company that has not enough money to run their own IT Department or to hire expensive skilled staff. These people must know what is going on and Kelly's article explained that extremely well. If all people would know about the weakness of WiFi they could start to look for how to secure them and we would have less work because of some stupid plonker having an open access point. So it should be 'Very well written Kelly. Thanks a bunch'.
