My concern goes: "Doesn't this mean that *displaying* the email is invading privacy?"
Your statement is so vague it includes my personal anti-spam engine, my web browser (for displaying the contents of email on my Squirrelmail setup), or my mail program for displaying my mail. It's not clear that any of these is an invasion of my privacy, even if (as is probably true of you) you do not have the source code for the programs or the web application runs on a server you do not control.
