Scott Granneman, 2004-06-17

It's time to tell our users, our clients, our associates, our families, and our friends to abandon Internet Explorer.

Well...you'll get that when you're made by a company that is closely scrutinized by millions of "security experts". I'm quite certain that if these same people all used Foxfire, you'd see a reverse list of holes. I'm not going to preach either side on this though as I'm sure both have their holes (IE having more 'known' holes).

I think the biggest argument to many programs is that as so-called "Security Experts" we expect to have all the bells and whistles (many of which have no use to us other than to say we have them) and get offended when we find someone down the street has broke our whistles.

Software design is a hard thing and any company with a million+ users using its software is going to have 100+ security holes.....it's just going to happen.

Don't get me wrong, not an advocate of IE, but do you really expect another browser to not be as buggy? Not going to happen. What is going to happen is the lack of users of other browsers keeps that browser's holes hidden longer (or forever in some cases).
