ok!that was a good article.i study computer science in greece (athens) and get to spend many hours every day in front of my pc.recently i ve tried to get rid of that annoying IE and i downloaded firefox , netscape navigator and also used and another browser(i actually compiled one in vb ).the thing is that ie6 for most people out there is THE ONLY BROWSER.they are not aware that there is something that CAN be seperated from windows. the average home user sits in his/her pc and thinks ie as something that will put them in the internet sites .for someone 2 know that there is alternative solution other than ie and all those disadvantages comin together means that he or she is an advanced user.and unfortunately the big maze using ie
is not familiar with os and browsers.they dont have the lightest clue what is happening.the buy their pc in an offer assembled and ready to surf.it has windows and ie.it has outlook and popus.it has virus and worms.they dont know the other choice.not until that other choice can guarantee technical support.have u ever heard of technical support for linux comin to ur house to fix an error ?or to configure the adsl modem? no...no..because linux and netscape and firefox and all those open source goodies cant give u anything for granted.i hate windows.i really do!
but i cant move alone 2 linux and those amazing suse 9.1 if i cant get a modem driver first .or he best game ever nfspeed_underg!an admin at my campus made a network in redhat.the lab was fully equipment with 40 pcs .the resolution was lousy.u had to scroll the mouse twice the length of a normal pad 2 get it right.most pages could not be written in greek...some other guy wanted to burn a cd...he burned 4.
still didnt get his job done.half of the students were afraid to click on anything.now the lab runs in winxp pro.with ie6.i believe its too early for the other solution...linux or smthng else..not for another 10 years....i love suse.i study for my exams now...but in a week im having suse as a partner from now on....(i ve already installed redhat , mandrake and suse at least 2 times each but every time i had to play a game or get into the net...so each time i installed win
