and see this all the time and its getting worse
The real problem lies with our social engineered socity that Advertising companies can get away with collecting demo graphic information gleaned from your system with out you knowing (i.e Identy theft anyone )
What your daughter went through and yourself is only the tip of the iceburge there is spyware out there you do not want to know
Advertising company's should be charged for the kayos they have caused.check out pestpatrol or spysweeper at last count there
is some 26000 malware programs running around
get one such as GATOR and sit back see the popups comith and any or remote connection with adult content that they preseive down it comes.
The goverment i.e. US had better do something with the problem or the Internet will go to the dogs
