I used tools like Hijack This! to try to get rid of the hijacking software, but none of them worked. I got rid of the Trojan file through manual effort and deduction, but not before I had spent every day of three weeks cleaning up the registry tree by hand before firing up the IE browser.
Don't shoot your mouth off, as if your experience is everyone else's experience, sir!
