"Limited number of simultaneous incomplete outbound TCP connection attempts"

This can be found here...

I've written a port scanner ( www.aviditysoftware.com )for administering VNC hosts on a network, which now will only work unacceptably slow at best. The OS deciding that I can't have as many outbound TCP/IP connections as I want rubs me the wrong way. However again, I do appreciate their effort, I just wish they weren't so "Microsoftish" about it.

Also, I *DO* admit I might be a little ignorant about sockets programming, perhaps I need different methodes. But from the knowledge I DO have, I don't see how I could rewrite it to perform quickly enough for my needs.

( This morning I found a a small util that hacks the tcpip.sys file to allow more than 10 outbound connections. So I'm a *little* happier...)
