While it's easy to focus on the tangible (software vendors & careless users) I personally feel that the problems and corresponding solutions reside with people. Yes, that's right..people. If you take a step back and see the Internet for it's nodes you'll realize that it's all created and controlled by people. That being said, I think today's generation of Baby Boomers and depression survivors who don't really care about security and just want a computer that they can pull out of a box, turn on and do some shopping over at E-Bay is only momentary. The next generation and the ones after that will know a lot more and demand a lot more from the computers they use which will inevitably force change from software vendors. You'd be surprised at how much 6th and 8th graders know about computers and using the Internet these days and it's my guess that the ones just being born will know even more. It will always be people to create problems and people to fix them.
