Forget Congress' myopic efforts to outlaw spyware. What we really need is better enforcement of existing computer crime laws.

I find it interesting that second order affects, such as those caused by Blaster and Sasser have not received more attention. Imagine, a virus or trojan is released in an undirected fashion on the network community. Banks, hospitals, military installations and other services go off-line due to these events. If this isn't a wake-up call then I don't know what is. When a/the first order, or zero-day, virus or trojan that specifically attacks these systems is deployed it will be interesting to see the community, business, and government reaction.

Some enterprising individual will find a way to hook or piggyback their way into/onto a spyware or adware product and just wreak havoc. I myself will just sit back and watch.
