The bar for security has been raised significantly by ALL operating systems. They are more secure today than they have ever been before. The hackers also are more clever today then they have ever been before and in greater number, and with more resources. I see that there are three main problems that we face today.
1) Human error - We make mistakes
2) More risk with each new technology as the become the new standard.
3) Rapid systems growth - Technology develops and deploys faster than we can both learn about it and test it for holes.
We will never get rid of human error, but I am confident that with time, the other two will fade into the night along with bank holdups and jailbreaks. Why? I belive the future is in firewalls with AI and end-point monitoring. At this point, it won't matter if your system is full of holes. The only application that will matter is your firewall/AI config.
