Phishing For Savvy Users
Scott Granneman, 2004-11-01

Recent "phishing" episodes, and two new browser vulnerabilities, show how the bad guys are tricking people into exposing their passwords and bank accounts. Couldn't happen to tech-savvy users, right? Unless you consider how entire nations have been fooled.

As mentioned in an article linked from this site, "many of the most-damaging security penetrations are, and will continue to be, due to social engineering". That goes hand in hand with the bad browsing habits. The folks, who answer the phone and give their passwords or click on the attachments of "RE: your document" emails, will always be tricked to open their e-banking site from a fake auction or e-commerce sites with "super special" last minute offers.
So, I think the vulnerybilities are pretty important. They still don't compare with the truck-sized holes from the monopolist product, but still they exist and could have been exploited, if the market share of these browsers had been more tempting.
