The Cost of Security Training
Don Parker, 2004-11-04

The cost of providing security training to your staff may be high, but what is the cost of not providing any training at all?

This is a double edged sword. Recently, I paid for my own two weeks of training and all of my expenses. My former company wouldn't entertain the idea of even paying me while I was gone.
Amazingly enough, they were surprised when I left soon after returning and tripped over themselves trying to keep me. They were also confused as to why I gave them such a "short notice" (I gave two weeks) and wouldn't entertain any of their attempts to keep me around.
If employers will not take the time or make the attempt to invest in their employees, what do the honestly expect the employees to give them?
