Bill Gates Is Right?
Scott Granneman, 2004-11-19

Bill Gates is right about one thing: asking people to use a two-factor form of authentication would go a long way toward alleviating a lot of the password problems that plague computer security today.

There are a *lot* of problems with biometrics, but this one is the least of your worries. Most biometric sensors already have the ability to tell if the proferred organ is alive. If they don't, then it's even easier to present a faked copy, so why go to the trouble of dismembering someone (not just trouble, but also increasing your crime to a felony, and probably murder 1).

Finally, a similar problem already exists with PINs; there area number of cases on record of persons being kidnapped and tortured to force them to reveal their PINs.
