I sort of agree. There is that feeling of "something has to be done" floating around out there in userland. Everytime that happens watch out! I remember there was the case of this guy that had a pretty disgusting thing where guys paid a lot of money to hunt girls with paintball guns in the woods. From what I was able to find out the girls were well remunerated. Instead of 111 protests to make the guys's life miserable some DA dug up something he could be charged with and he had a serious legal encounter and the objectionable thing went away.

Most people think this is all well and good, sort of like the popularity of the ASBO (Anti-Social Behavior Ordinances) in the UK to send people to jail/gaol for non-crimes. This is alas a social reality.

I do hope the current issue will be thrown out due to either First Amendement or other Bill of Rights violations. I could seee some saying "only reduce it" in fact suspended sentences should be done if people just want a legal terrorisation tool. I fear many pweople do want such ans so we will have such.
