I say screw the pirates. If you don't want to pay for the product either seek a legal alternative or go without. If you think it is overpriced, go without. Go use Linux, or buy a mac, or write your own code. The lame excuses all come from people who somehow think they are entitled to the fruits of Microsoft's labor. Sticking it to Microsoft only screws millions of honest Joes out there who own their stock.
Whatever Microsoft has to do to make life harder for pirates is just fine with me. Were it not for the pirates, they could likely charge less per license and the profits would increase at the same time. The pirates are the problem, not Microsoft.
