Redmond's plan to make you install Windows authentication software before downloading vital security patches is a reasonable and gentle effort to limit piracy.

This sucks.
There are so many ways to act legally and put future profits or values like health and an intact environment at risk.
Would you really want an oil company you hold stock of to reduce security measures for profit (Exxon has a history of that), causing the next oil disaster?
Would you really want an airline you hold stock of to reduce technical checks, using each part for the maximum possible time, causing the next airplane crash and possibly killing hundreds of people?
Would you really want a company you own stock of to make fast money (and fullfilling the CEOs MbO-targets) and ruining the market and profits for the next year?
Think again what you wish for.
