MS have long relied on the claim that as they have the largest footprint of systems on the net then it follows they will suffer the most exploits (proportionality) and it is not a reflection of the quality of their code.
This claim can not be dismissed although anecdotal evidence from honeypot research etc suggest they may be on shaky ground.
Only time will tell, and Steve is hoping that in that time frame they can get on top of the issue - good luck to them if they can, but I for one can't be bothered waiting around.
