Is using a highlighter on a book, and making notes in the margin, also a violation of copyright in your opinion?
AutoLink does not change the web page - it changes *my copy* of the web page, and only when I ask it to do so. How the heck is that copyright infringement? Nothing is being republished or redistributed.
Whether or not the author likes it is irrelevant. I don't care whether Jan Wenner approves of me using old issues of Rolling Stone to housetrain puppies; excuse me: "enhance the content," either. It's none of his business.
