No operating system is completely immune to security threats, and that includes Apple's OS X.

Although more systems are running MS than OS X, the very nature of the OS X community makes them a very attractive target: they think they are bullet proof.
Imagine a foolishly confident Mac user who has failed to deactivate the 'hide extension' feature that is turned on by default on OS X systems. Enter the crafty hacker who puts together an OS X application named 'LoveLetter.doc.app'. The foolish Mac user, knowing they are invincible from the viruses that plague MS, downloads it and blammo... Game over.
I am a Mac user. I could have fallen for this trick myself at one time. It never think it is unwise to urge caution in these situations. What I do think the author should have pointed out more strongly however, is that the cult of Mac users need to get a reality check and realize that their ivory tower is just a cover for a mess of old BSD unix code... That kernel isn't closed anymore... And Mac OS obscurity is no longer a reality...
