Your fingerprints are everywhere
Scott Granneman, 2005-06-15

How much do you trust your government? That's a question that all of us have to ask, perhaps the more often the better. Thomas Jefferson, one of the founders of the United States and its third President, wrote to Abigail Adams in 1787 sentences that may seem incredible to many people today:

Great article, thank you Jeff H. for emailing it to me(even though your email title was somewhat misleading). I am not going to advocate the Patriot Act or any other measures taken by the government to "protect it's citizens", I just would like everyone to look at this issue from the other prospective. I lived in this country for close to 10 years and yet, after everything what has been said and done I am to make a claim that this country still remains the greatest country on Earth. Was it better 10 years ago? May be. Did the government have to do all this things to "protect us". May be. Yes there is a whole lot of ignorance and misuse of power, money, and time, but in my opinion you can not blame government about implementing any of its measures because the government itself is as ignorant and clueless as people who voted for this government, it does things to the best of it's ability. Are these things good enough or too good? Education is the key, indeed, but it is not as simple as it seems, the roots of the issue are much deeper and stronger than they look. Can we root this one? I don't think so, because "majority" will simply refuse to be educated, as it was proven during last elections. After all it's all a matter of an individual opinion.

Pardon my english.
