Microsoft and Claria, together at last?
Scott Granneman, 2005-07-13

I don't get mad too easily, but there's one thing guaranteed to really get me steaming, and that's when someone is lying to me. Right now I'm feeling lied to, and while I could be wrong, I don't think I am. Worse, I don't think I'm the only one who's the victim here. I think virtually all of you are having your chains yanked as well.

Gives new meaning to the phrase "Sleeping with the enemy". MS always operates under the shroud of secrecy, probably so it can back out of embarrassing situations like the Claria acquisition in response to the public outcry.

Either Bill Gates is not as smart as we think he is, or he has become so far removed from the "real world" that he actual entertains absurd ideas like a Claria acquisition. And what's with the downgrading of WhenU, Webhancer, eZula.TopText, and New.net? Something else, MS hoped the public would not notice.

Well, notice this MS...The public is getting smarter, and your obvious pandering to adware/spyware purveyors will only serve to erode the the confidence and respect that you fought so hard to win with the Giant acquisition and your SP2 Security Update. That confidence and respect can and will vanish in a flash, if you continue your subversive and untrustworthy tactics. It's time to throw the machine in reverse, and return to trying to cultivate your relationship with the public by restoring the former MS Antispyware classification scheme, and banishing any future thoughts of "Sleeping with the enemy". We WILL notice!
