Actually there is an example of "counterworm" : Code green. It seeks out systems infected with Code Red, clean and patch the system.

This idea was proposed by F.Cohen (1986). he also has proposed viruses to save ressouces on system. An other example of "good virus" was provided by Ludvig, this one secure all file of a user encripting his files.

The probleme is that "anti virus virus" would probably cause more havoc then good. As an exemple Slammer had no payload at all, only his traffic as a side effect has broken down some networks.
