According to the Apple Web site, Security Update 2005-007 was released to the public on August 12, 2005. And, as with all of their recent security updates, it is available to all Apple customers free of charge. I'm sure none of you reading this article will argue with me about that being a good thing.

There are public exploits for vulnerabilities in OS X. As well, if you're under the impression that the lack of publicly available exploits means that none exist, then you're mistaken.
"and I think it is a bit premature to take any issue with Apples patching priority."
It's never to early to implement better security practices. Would you rather them wait for a significant incident to occur, and react accordingly (what happened to Microsoft), or tackle the problem before it becomes an issue?
"combined with the core security of the OS has kept mac users 100% safe"
There's no denying the fact that OS X has been build on a solid foundation. However, no operating system is "100% safe", and it's a bad idea to think that, from a security perspective, you can run any operating system with impunity.
And, from a business standpoint, what affects the immediate bottom line isn't always the right decision for the long term.
Thanks for your feedback on my article.
