It's only a matter of time...

According to the Apple Web site, Security Update 2005-007 was released to the public on August 12, 2005. And, as with all of their recent security updates, it is available to all Apple customers free of charge. I'm sure none of you reading this article will argue with me about that being a good thing.

while there patch timeliness is atrocious. Many of the patches posted by the open source community are just as atrocious. patches that have been developed and posted to the net 2 hours later means one thing. UNTESTED. people run mission critical stuff on open source software and if open source vendors honestly think 2 hours of testing is enough for something that will cost companies millions if it goes wrong then they need a good kick in the nuts. So while apple sucks badly, open source need almost as much work but on the QA side of things.
