Skype security and privacy concerns
Scott Granneman, 2005-09-22

One of my stranger hobbies is collecting interesting and weird anecdotes I find in the news. I have a few areas that always fascinate me, such as finding people who miraculously escape certain death, or items about human memory and cognition, or eccentric individuals who embody some strange aspect of the human condition.

"How about doing a follow up article with some empirical data showing how the information that eBay has released to Law Enforcement has been abused, as that seems to be the implied fear."

BZZT WRONG... I don't want this information handing out for free whether it gets abused or not. The fear here is that the information is handed out at all. Also, you seem to have neatly sidestepped the other worry, which is clearly that it might get handed out to NON Law Enforcement bodies. Let me reiterate: I don't want this information about myself to be freely available, whether it ends up getting abused or not, and I certainly do NOT have to show any cases where it does get abused before I'm allowed to get annoyed about it.
