ICANN on center stage
Scott Granneman, 2005-10-13

I'm not a profound DNS expert... But it's so difficult place more root servers around the world? And who's will warrant that, if USA go to war against, for example, Brazil (from where I am), they will not undermine ".br" from root servers?

Okay, I'm with you that China, Myanmar or Saudi Arabia are not so good freedom of expression examples. But why not place a pan-national ICANN like organization, perhaps ITU, commanding this all... With UN backing, even that this could not be so different, that should be more trustful.

Sorry about my poor English (I'm brazilian, so Portuguese-Speaker and English is only second language for me).
