ICANN on center stage

ICANN and the U.S. government reach center stage next month in Tunisia, as the future of IP address assignments and U.S. control of the root DNS turns into a hotbed of debate.

I find myself getting more and more annoyed at the way Scott Granneman rails against all things corporate (Microsoft, EBay, Cisco, etc.), praises all things open-source (pretty much without exception) and has now decided to move into the political arena lecturing us all on the "self-evident" shortcomings of the administration of G.W. Bush. But what I find to be perhaps most interesting is that after about 5 days there is a sum total of ONE (1) comment posted. I don't know if this speaks to the irrelevance of Mr. Granneman's essays or the irrelevance of the heavily-moderated SecurityFocus comment boards. (It sometimes takes DAYS for my posts to appear as they await "approval" by SF staff.) Frankly, I think that both of these problems are ones that need to be dealt with if SecurityFocus is to remain relevant and meaningful to the security community as a whole.
